Ryan always delivers. Nuff said. Most of the time his sets sound like some kind of a "How To Kill It 101" class that IMO a lot of dj's ought to enroll themselves in. With that in mind he needed a show all to himself to flex a 2 hour lesson plan. So take notes kiddies, because there's no disappointments here. This mix is heavy, hard, and in your face with some briefly deep moments and very rare classic dance records, especially in the 2nd hour of the mix. I wish I had a tracklist for this mix, because I'd like to go out and find every one of these tunes for myself! 100% pure rave shit to blow out the stacks. Enjoy!

Every so often, I go thru a nostalgic phase and start hitting up used vinyl to add to the collection. I have a soft spot for stuff from 92-96 and remember all of the good times I had partying in the big warehouses. I honestly think music was a lot better back then, it hit a peak in the underground where it started bubbling up to the surface and trickling in the mainstream little by little. The more popular the scene, the less cutting edge it became. More and more parties, producers, and dj's appeared as as a result what was once a movement became watered down in every way. Disappointing.

Anyhow, this is a cd length excerpt from the July 9th webcast when I got into one of those phases, remembering "the way we used to do it." There's some proggy bits and some real vinyl finds in here, but also a sprinkling of newer digi releases that made the cut. Fortunately, I've included a list so you can find em on your own. winking

Enjoy!

This was actually recorded after the regular time on MHYH last night. The normal show is two hours but sometimes we carry over into a third, and in this case, a fourth hour of mixing. This podcast starts at the beginning of the hour three right when we are starting to get into some deep tech and really long fluid mixing. A very electronic, drifting, dreamy session, good listening for really late nights.

Ryan Wilber and I have been friends and partners in crime in music for over 10 years. He has opened up for John Acquaviva in Miami and John Selway in San Francisco. Damn worthy. Ryan collects vintage audio gear and the most ancient house records imaginable. For his latest show visit, we decided to tag back and forth 2-3 records each for this 2+ hour mix that was originally aired on www.myhouse-yourhouse.net on December 11, 2008. As is usual when Ryan visits, we weren't too long into our visit before we started our pissing contest to see who can work the oldest gems into the set. Ryan always wins!

Enjoy & Happy Holidays winking
