Every so often, I go thru a nostalgic phase and start hitting up used vinyl to add to the collection. I have a soft spot for stuff from 92-96 and remember all of the good times I had partying in the big warehouses. I honestly think music was a lot better back then, it hit a peak in the underground where it started bubbling up to the surface and trickling in the mainstream little by little. The more popular the scene, the less cutting edge it became. More and more parties, producers, and dj's appeared as as a result what was once a movement became watered down in every way. Disappointing.
Anyhow, this is a cd length excerpt from the July 9th webcast when I got into one of those phases, remembering "the way we used to do it." There's some proggy bits and some real vinyl finds in here, but also a sprinkling of newer digi releases that made the cut. Fortunately, I've included a list so you can find em on your own. ![]()
Enjoy!
